A little rock & roll love! 🎸❤️
Meghan Monroe’s single “Your Husband’s Cheating on Us” has been included in Scott Kash’s GOT ROCK PLAYLIST — Metal Monday Edition Vol. 8, a public Spotify playlist showcasing new music releases.
The song was also featured in Part 3 of Scott Kash’s accompanying Instagram new-music roundup.
Thank you to Scott Kash for supporting independent artists and including Meghan Monroe’s latest release.
So happy to announce I made an extensive application to work with Judy Stakee who has helped develop, sign, and mentor artists such as Sheryl Crow, Katy Perry, Gavin DeGraw, and Joy Williams. Additionally Stakee was Senior Vice-President of Creative at Warner Chappell Music.
She recently contacted me with the wonderful news that I had been selected as one of 20 women to work with her one-on-one during a five-day songwriting retreat in Ben Lomond, CA. The retreat would include intensive songwriting, access to a recording studio, vocal coaching, and opportunities to work with selected music industry professionals.
For the first time, I submitted three newly written songs in their raw, unpolished form, recorded at home with only my own piano accompaniment. These were songs I had written over the preceding few months for my new album. Although I had shared works in progress with trusted teachers and mentors, presenting such personal, unfinished material for consideration outside that familiar circle was a new level of vulnerability for me.
Being selected after sharing those recordings was especially meaningful. Having Judy also compliment my production of “A Lover Is Forever,” a fully produced recording, made the experience even more rewarding.
Stakee wrote:
"Hi Meghan,
I am so glad you applied for the retreat.
I really like your voice and your unique style. I also like your production on 'Lover Is Forever.'
So, Congratulations, I am delighted to inform you that you have been selected to participate in my “It All Starts With A Song” California Songwriting Retreat: September 25-29, 2017."
I'm SOOO excited to work with such a fantastic mentor and artist development powerhouse in such a gorgeous location.
I'm honored three of my songs have been selected for the WOSRadio podcast series "We've Got It Covered." The series will feature unique, original covers of well known songs.
The shows are divided into decades: 2000s, 1990s, 1980s, 1970s, 50s & 60s, and Standards. Each show airs daily on WOSRadio for two weeks from late August to mid November.
“The Look of Love,” “La Isla Bonita (Versión de Rose),” and “Medley: I'll Make Love to You / End of the Road” will be showcased.
I'll be posting dates and links to listen as they become available. :D
I've VERY excited to have earned the spot as featured artist on Reverbnation's homepage. My new song "To Love Somebody" received a very high rating from a crowd review which earned me this honor and will be featured on the homepage as well.
Listen to "To Love Somebody" on https://www.reverbnation.com/meghanmonroe as well as three other new songs not yet on other purchasing and streaming sites.
I put my heart and soul into this song and it feels so wonderful to have it acknowledged. :D

My recording of “A Lover is Forever” was selected for the Women of Substance Radio & Podcast's Valentine’s Playlist along with seven other artists.
Station owner & DJ Bree Noble mentioned at the end of its play, "That really puts you in the mood for love."
Each instrument from the outstanding muted trumpet, dark, dirge like bow on the bass, the tender piano, the deft, stiletto of the drums, to the intimate, honest, sultry depth of my voice makes for an exquisite, vulnerable, but gorgeous song. We all heard and felt that instant connection in the recording studio and it really shows.
What an honor to complete a song in the studio and have it immediately selected to be played on an exclusive, Valentine's playlist for a global radio & podcast.
I'm truly touched it resonated so deeply with others--as it did me when I sang it--especially in the month for lovers and of love. ❤️
'Your Husband's Cheating on Us,'--just completed in the studio by Meghan Monroe and unreleased--is chosen for spotlight, placement on a compilation with global distribution in 1200 digital outlets in 120+ countries, as well as Digital Radio Broadcast on all platforms through OAG Management in a non-exclusive agreement.
Meghan was selected to be the only artist on the selected compilation in the Rock category. To be released in the future, 'Your Husband's Cheating On Us' is an exciting, new sound and a very, compelling song (not to mention title :D!).
It's an honor to be selected as the only artist and song representing the rock genre on the compilation. The global compilation will be available at the end of 2016.
Looking forward to representing a new, global, rock sound!
Meghan Monroe's entire recorded song collection--including all new recordings--has been selected for non-exclusive, digital, worldwide distribution to +500 stores & to +200 countries by Chaos Music Distribution.
This non-exclusive agreement allows for each contracted company and store within +200 countries and +500 stores to select any of Meghan's songs to be chosen for a variety of playlists both within that country and/or globally.
It's an honor to be selected by CMD, to have a new avenue for my music to reach the incredible people all over the world, and to be rewarded with a growing, national, and global audience of fans. ❤️
